Tailgating at ND

Peter and Lilly invited me to join their usual ND tailgating event. First stop was the admin building where the Irish bagpipers played. Then we headed over to the Reilly tailgate where Lilly enjoyed a cupcake--guess what color?!

August Celebrations!

This is a special month of many happy occasions! I keep thinking of my mom as we approach Liz and Eric's wedding day. I'm sure she is very pleased to see Liz's joy! Her birthday is coming up is coming up on August 14th, the same day as Eric's. That is so special that they share the same birthday.

Thank you Lord for our many happy memories and all the happiness of today! Your love is so abundant.

Blueberries!!!

Lilly and I had a fun outing today! She is quite the blueberry picker. There were no small green berries in her tub! And she doesn't eat any! We were surprised with a tractor ride out to the patch. It was a perfect day to pick--very comfortable temperature and no bees buzzing around our heads. The bag she's holding is the fruit of her labor, no help from me!

Beautiful Michigan!

Dan and I had a fun weekend away celebrating our 36th. We spent most of our time relaxing looking at Lake Michigan. The sunsets were wonderful. And our lodge was right on the lake. We were 4 hours from home on the Leelanau Penninsula. Very scenic!

The rest of the story!

We had a lovely weekend celebrating Dan's 60th and the 2 youngest "Brewers" baptism.

Everyone was home for the weekend. And Bill's parents joined in the fun. They drove Bill down for the weekend.

Saturday started with a big bike ride. The weather was perfect. Dan enjoyed the fun opportunity to ride with all the kids.

Everyone gathered again in the afternoon. The plan was to play at Brownfield but the weather did not cooperate. So we spent the afternoon hanging out playing with the kids, and Dan enjoyed watching the US Open with Peter. (It put Peter to sleep!) Trish kept us happy with her delicious hors d'ouvres! And then she delighted us with grilled salmon for dinner.

Dan was thrilled to receive an iPad from everyone! He was honored by a wonderful time with the fam.

Sunday, we had brunch at our house. Then we met at St. Joe Church at noon and had a beautiful ceremony. Neither baby made a sound as the water poured over their heads! They were happy about their new life in Christ.

After a flurry of picture taking Bill and Care, the kids and his parents took off for Minnesota. There they are enjoying their time living with Bill's parents while they scout around for house possibilities.

Our Weekend Begins...

We had a wonderful weekend celebrating Dan's 60th. Bill and his parents drove down from Minnesota to join in the festivities. The day began with a bike ride along the river. Dan and the kids had a great time. Bill spent the morning playing a frisbee games with the kids in the backyard. They are all skilled frisbee throwers! We had a wonderful afternoon together. Trish put together a delicious salmon dinner, and Dan was thrilled to get an iPad which was exactly what he wanted. More pix will be coming soon.

Precious Time!

It has been so fun to get to live with Care and the kids this past 2 weeks. And they will be here for 3 more weeks! So wonderful to do crazy stuff with them, to see Laura grow in front of our eyes, and to spoil Care. (Hard to do when there are 4 kids who need just her!)

The move north...

It was very exciting being a part of the Reinhardt pack up and send off. They whittled their possessions down to 2 big rectangular boxes. Incredible! The kids were so peaceful in the middle of the big change. The send off party was so uplifting and encouraging! Dan and I have so enjoyed getting to know so many wonderful people in New Orleans. It was very fun to get to know the specialities of the area, esp. Snow Balls!!!

Toasting with the Bomkamps!

From Engaged

We got to spend some time with Eric's parents this past weekend. It was so fun to celebrate with Eric and Liz and great to get to know Terry and Patti better. We got some planning done for the good times ahead. And we joined in prayer to thank God for bringing this special couple together.

Holding and watching Laura! She is so beautiful and very peaceful.

Laura Patrice

Having lots of fun with the grandkids! The whole house is quiet at the moment. Nap time! This morning we had guests and the in-house barber gave haircuts.

The sun is shining bright and the temp has warmed up so we're planning on heading out to the playground at the levee this afternoon.

Whistle while you work!

Here's a good reminder to put joy into our daily work. Thank you Grandpa for your example of how to be "Blessed with work"!

4 years ago Grandpa slipped out of this world. He was alive in Christ and lived his life for Christ. Now he's continues to be alive in Christ.

Epiphany

Today Lilly and I had a real fun outing to ND. We celebrated the 3 Kings day by making a pilgrimage to see the beautiful nativity scenes at the Basilica and the Grotto. On the way we enjoyed all the statues and squirrels! We made a stop at the Campus Ministry building to check out the big ball in the atrium. Lilly warmed right up to that marble ball. We ended our outing with a hot choco at the bookstore. Very delightful. Thank you Lord.
